The study focuses on the radiocarbon dating of prehistoric settlement in southern Mongolia. The article presents a series of radiocarbon dates obtained from charcoal and charred plant macroremains from the area of the ancient lakeshore at Baruun Khuree, located in the Gobi-Altai region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The AMS radiocarbon series (14C) enables the stratified deposits under investigation to be linked with some of the earliest evidence for the activity of highly mobile hunter-gatherer groups operating in the southern Gobi Desert during the Early Holocene (c. 11,250\u201310,500 cal BP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The results presented form part of a broader research project, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/archeo.mongolia.uwr.edu.pl\/en\/\">Around Tsakhiurtyn Hondi.
