Deciphering Sudetic landscape history by using alluvial geoarchives: Holocene environmental changes at Hala Izerska, SW Poland
A new article entitled “Deciphering Sudetic landscape history by using alluvial geoarchives: Holocene environmental changes at Hala Izerska, SW Poland”, co-authored by Paweł Duma, PhD from the Institute of Archaeology at the University of Wrocław, has been published in the journal Catena.
The study, conducted in the headwaters of the Izera River, adopts an interdisciplinary approach combining geological, palaeobotanical, geophysical, and historical data. Through the analysis of alluvial deposits and subfossil wood, the research reconstructs environmental transformations and early traces of human activity from the mid-Holocene to the modern period. The paper offers a valuable contribution to the understanding of long-term human–environment dynamics in the Sudetes.
Congratulations!
