President of the Republic of Poland Presents a Professorial Nomination to Marta Osypińska

We are pleased to announce that on 7 January 2026, a formal ceremony was held during which the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, presented a professorial nomination to Marta Osypińska of the Institute of Archaeology, University of Wrocław.
This distinguished honour crowns many years of Professor Osypińska’s consistent scholarly, teaching and organisational activity and confirms her significant contribution to the development of archaeology. The nomination is also a source of pride for the entire community of the Institute of Archaeology, University of Wrocław.
The nomination carries a particular historical significance — it is the first professorial nomination awarded to a woman in the more than 80-year history of the Institute of Archaeology at the University of Wrocław, and at the same time the first professorial nomination granted to a woman in the history of Polish African archaeology.
We extend our warmest congratulations to Professor Osypińska and wish her continued academic success and fulfilment in her future endeavours.
