The 80th Anniversary of Archaeology at the University of Wrocław

The Directorate of the Institute of Archaeology, University of Wrocław, is honoured to invite you to the official celebration of the 80th Anniversary of Archaeology at the University of Wrocław, which will take place on 2 December 2025 at 11:00 in the Oratorium Marianum (Main Building of the University of Wrocław, pl. Uniwersytecki 1).

The ceremony will be opened by Prof. Robert Olkiewicz, Rector of the University of Wrocław, and Prof. Paweł Klint, Dean of the Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences. The programme will include lectures dedicated to the history and development of university archaeology in Wrocław, as well as presentations showcasing the research and activities conducted within the Institute.

The speakers will include:
– Prof. Jan Michał Burdukiewicz (University of Wrocław),
– Prof. Aleksiejus Luchtanas and Prof. Albinas Kuncevičius (Vilnius University),
– Krzysztof Demidziuk, MA (Archaeological Museum, a branch of the City Museum of Wrocław),
– Prof. Mirosław Masojć (University of Wrocław).

Following the official part of the programme, all guests are warmly invited to a social gathering starting at 16:30 at the Mleczarnia café (5 Pawła Włodkowica Street).
