International academic conference entitled Numismatica Centroeuropaea: VIII – Domini naturales – on the 350th anniversary of the extinction of the Piast dynasty. Money of the Dynasties

The 8th International Academic Conference in the Numismatica Centroeuropaea series, entitled: ‘Domini naturales – on the 350th anniversary of the extinction of the Piast dynasty. Money of the Dynasties’, will take place in Legnica from 16th to 19th September 2025.
The conference is organised by the Copper Museum in Legnica.
The Institute of Archaeology at the University of Wrocław is a co-organiser of this prestigious event.
Numismatica Centroeuropaea is a recurring international forum for scholars specialising in the study of coins and the monetary history of Central Europe and neighbouring countries. Previous editions have been held in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary.
This year’s edition commemorates two significant anniversaries:
– The millennium of the coronation of Bolesław I the Brave (1025).
– The 350th anniversary of the extinction of the Piast dynasty (1675),
Both dates highlight the nearly seven-century-long coinage tradition of the Piast dynasty. The principal thematic focus of the conference will be the coins of European dynasties.
The project is co-financed by the governments of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through the International Visegrad Fund.
We cordially invite you to participate!
