A new podcast – Blazing the Trail: An epic journey into the origins of humanity.

We invite you to discover a fascinating narrative about what makes us human! Blazing the Trail is a five-episode podcast in which the University of Wrocław has actively participated, collaborating with esteemed partners such as Breakthru Films, the Australian Museum, the University of Sydney, and the University of Liverpool. This international collaboration has produced a remarkable series that takes listeners on a journey tracing the footsteps of our earliest ancestors – from humanity’s beginnings in Africa to the global expansion of anatomically modern humans.

The podcast skilfully and engagingly combines knowledge from various disciplines, including archaeology, palaeoanthropology, and linguistics, in order to illuminate key milestones in the development of humanity. Among the topics explored are the origins and evolution of tool use, the mastery of fire, the emergence of language, humans’ capacity to adapt to extreme environmental conditions, and the extraordinary ability to migrate. Blazing the Trail is an exploration of our shared past that helps us to understand the foundations of human nature.

The podcast is led by Dr Amy Way, an archaeologist affiliated with the University of Sydney and the Australian Museum. In enlightening conversations with prominent scholars, she brings to light cutting-edge research and groundbreaking theories about human evolution.
